How we earn
The short version
Some of the links on HonestQuid are referral or affiliate links. If you sign up to a service through one of them, the company pays us a commission. It costs you nothing, and it never reduces the bonus or offer you receive — in many cases you actually get more through a referral than by going direct.
What that means in practice
- We earn from some listings, not all. Plenty of offers we list — including most bank switch bonuses — pay us nothing at all. We list them because they're good offers, and good offers are the whole point of the site.
- Commission never decides the list. An offer earns its place by being genuinely worth your time. If a paying offer is worse than a non-paying one, the better offer goes first.
- We label our social posts. Where our Instagram or Facebook posts contain affiliate links, they're marked with #ad in line with UK advertising rules.
- We respect providers' rules too. Where a company's referral scheme is personal-only (Octopus Energy, for example), we explain the offer but don't publish a link — even though it costs us the commission.
What we will never do
- We never list credit cards, loans or any credit products. Promoting credit for commission is a regulated activity in the UK, and it's also just not what this site is for.
- We never charge you. HonestQuid is free and always will be — commissions are the only way the site earns.
- We never sell your data. See our privacy policy — there's refreshingly little in it, because we collect almost nothing.
The regulatory bit
HonestQuid is an independent UK website. We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, and nothing on this site is financial advice or a personal recommendation. We share publicly available offers and explain how they work in plain English; whether any offer suits you depends on your own circumstances, and you should always read the provider's full terms before signing up.
Questions about any of this? Email us at hello@honestquid.co.uk — we'd genuinely rather over-explain than have you wonder.
